The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate
In the early 1960s, before the rest of the wine-drinking world
discovered Australia's winemaking capabilities, a small committee
of Viticulturalists from the Seppelts winery visited the Padthaway
region in search of new land for premium grape production. Around
the same time, the Lindeman Group explored the region and established
the first serious vineyard in Padthaway.
Since these humble beginnings, the Padthaway region has established
an international reputation for producing of premium quality cool
climate grapes. Today, the Padthaway region boasts a world-class
winery, 'Stonehaven' (BRL Hardy) and in excess of 3,000 hectares
under-vine. Increasingly, Padthaway wine vintages are destined for
international markets where they are recognised with awards and
drinker loyalty.
The attraction of Padthaway has always been its potential to produce
premium quality grapes on a large scale. Its proximity near the
world famous 'Coonawarra' Region, along with the similarity of soils
and climate, enhances its potential. With only around 20 growers
and a finite availability of irrigation water, viticultural expansion
in this rich area has all but ceased.
Australasian Agribusiness Services Pty Ltd is delighted to be able
to offer serious investors an opportunity to participate in The
Padthaway Braithwaite Estate, a high quality viticultural development
opportunity. The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate viticultural
development provides an intending Grower with an exciting opportunity
to share in the lucrative rewards of viticultural investment in
a region that has a world-class reputation.
The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate project is located at Padthaway,
a premier viticultural region in the South East of South Australia.
The land is situated off the Riddoch Highway, approximately 5 km
north of Padthaway and 52 km north of the regional centre of Naracoorte.
This general region is well known as the Limestone Coast viticultural
region, and includes the world famous Coonawarra Region.
The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate offers investors secure
water rights and a community title freehold land interest. When
fully developed there will be a 57.6-hectares premium quality cool
climate Vineyard in the Padthaway region of South Australia. The
development will planted in approximately equal proportions of Chardonnay,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot grape varieties.
The Project site is 5 km north of the Padthaway Estate vineyard
and homestead; a landmark vineyard managed by Padthaway Vineyard
Services Pty Ltd. Less than 5 km south of the Padthaway Township
is the new state of the art BRL Hardy Stonehaven Winery.
The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate is adjacent to the Padthaway
Henderson's Estate Vineyard, a viticultural project also developed
and supervised by Australasian Agribusiness Services Pty Ltd. When
fully developed The Padthaway Braithwaite Estate will be
an important component of a contiguous and uniformly managed 650-acre
(260 hectare) vineyard.
